So sitting at the MacLab, it makes me wanna blog even more. I haven’t blogged in a while, idk how I feel about this.. so here I’m learning the basics of Web Design. I know the basics, so this stuff it’s pretty easy; but I hope I’ll strengthen my knowledge by actually paying attention.

Stop Pidgin from beeping when hitting Backspace.

I like using Pidgin as my IM client. Pidgin is Linux based and widely customizable. Anyway, if you are one of the users of Pidgin, ever notice the annoying beeping sound that it makes when you hit the backspace key when nothing is typed up? Yes, there is a way to remove that beep.

Go to your folder where you installed Pidgin, most likely [drive letter]:\Program Files\Pidgin
Within the Pidgin folder, go to Gtk\etc\gtk-2.0\
Once there, there is a file named gtkrc with no extension.
Open it up with notepad or your favorite text editor and beneath the first line put:
```
gtk-error-bell = 0
```
Save it, restart Pidgin, and you’re golden.

If the gtkrc file happens to not exist, just create a new file in the gtk-2.0 folder and paste these lines in:

gtk-theme-name = "MS-Windows"
gtk-error-bell = 0
